Welcome to Smoking in Japan.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your purchase and use of our digital product and related services.
By purchasing or accessing the Smoking in Japan Map, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About Us

The website smokingmapjapan.com (“the Site”) and the product Smoking in Japan – Official Map & Guide are operated by Nadav Gelbard (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

2. Product Description

Smoking in Japan provides a digital guide containing:

  • A private, view-only Google Maps list of smoking areas in Japan;

  • A downloadable PDF guide with instructions and additional information.

The product is for informational use only and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any governmental or municipal authority.

3. License and Permitted Use

When you purchase the product, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • View the private Google Map; and

  • Download and keep one copy of the PDF for personal use.

You may not share, resell, reproduce, or publicly distribute the map, the PDF, or any related content.
Access is linked to your personal Google account email used during purchase.

4. Delivery

After successful payment:

  1. You will receive an automatic download link to the PDF guide;

  2. You will receive an email with instructions and a private map link; and

  3. Your Google account email will be added as a Viewer to the private map.

Delivery is usually immediate. In rare cases, processing may take up to 24 hours due to technical delays.

5. Payments and Billing

All payments are processed securely through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record.
Lemon Squeezy handles all applicable taxes (including VAT) and issues invoices or receipts.
We do not collect or store any credit-card or payment details.

6. Refund Policy

Because this is a digital informational product with instant access, all sales are final.
Refunds are only considered if:

  • You were charged in error; or

  • We cannot deliver access to your Google Map.

7. Access and Availability

Access to the private Google Map is ongoing.
However, we may update, modify, or remove map data at any time to maintain accuracy or comply with platform policies.
We reserve the right to revoke access if these Terms are violated.

8. Disclaimer

The map is provided as a reference guide based on publicly available data and user research. While we strive to maintain the highest level of accuracy and provide continuous updates, we do not guarantee that the map is comprehensive (i.e., that it covers every single smoking location) or that the data is free of errors, inaccuracies, or omissions.

We do not guarantee that any location remains available, accessible, or compliant with local smoking regulations. For private businesses (e.g., cafes, bars), we do not guarantee that entry or access to the smoking area will be granted by the establishment.

Use the map at your own discretion and always follow local laws and posted signs.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any loss, injury, or damages resulting from use or inability to use the map or guide.

  • We are not responsible for enforcement of smoking rules, location closures, or any third-party services (e.g., Google Maps or Lemon Squeezy).

10. Intellectual Property

All materials on this Site—including text, graphics, and map data compilation—are owned or licensed by Smoking in Japan.
No part of the product may be copied or reused without prior written permission.

11. Privacy

We only collect the information necessary to deliver your purchase (such as your email address).

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of Tel Aviv, Israel.
